Three days at Magic Kingdom. One day at MGM Studios. 85 degrees. A 4 year
old and a 2 year old. Yep, we're crazy.
On day one - so white, we glow.
"You can keep the sandwich. I'l just
take this bag of chips."
Donald: "Get a load of this chick.
Who does she think she is??"
Apparently nobody likes the "storm"
inside the Rainforest Cafe.
Our first encounter with Cinderella. Mackenzie
didn't care that she was a little stiff.
First morning at Disney. Some nice old
man offered to take this picture...poorly.
That extra foot higher makes all the difference.
The girls with a, uh, giant pumpkin.
Delaney LOVES the meal plan.
Even the biggest Disney fan can run down
by the end of the day.
Waiting for the bus that will take everyone
to breakfast with Cinderella and the Princesses
It was early enough that there were very
few people there. A little eerie.
Just us and a class trip on Main Street.
"You stand right here. And you stand
right...wait...you, don't move. Both of you...here...stop."
Doin' the Hokey Pokey in Frontierland.
This is about the only way I get in pictures...I
have to take one of myself.
Cinderella's Castle at dusk.
Delaney got a pirate hat because she rode
the Pirates ride. Kenz got one because she'd cry if she didn't.
The family at MGM and, no, I'm not wearing
the same outfit as the day before.
Dancing with the Playhouse Disney gang.
It's like she can stare into your soul.
"Would you just put down that camera
for a second so I can go down this slide?"
Posing with characters without waiting
in line...sweet.
You get bored when waiting for the parade
to start. Pencils in the Crocs seemed like a good time waster.
Kenz passes the time by dancing. Shake
it like a Polaroid picture, kiddo.
Delaney waving at anyone that would look
her way.
Mackenzie wasn't a big fan of Darth Vader.
And she HATED Captain Hook.
A pre-emptive strike before another "scary
one" comes.
End of day 3 at Disney...wiped out.
Riding It's a Small World - Mackenzie's
favorite ride - for the third time. I get a bonus ride later in the
day.
We watched the show in front of the castle
3 times. She knew all of the dance moves.
Delaney shows off her new buddy, Baby Pluto.
The both did very well considering the
heat and lack of sleep. Next up...relaxing in Ft. Myers.
Disney Characters
As terrified of the characters as Mackenzie was last time we were at Disney, it was a crapshoot on whether she would be into them this time too. Results were much better this time.
Chip and Dale. That's Chip on the left
in case you didn't know. And Dale on the right.
If you can't tell, Delaney is enamored
with Snow White.
Don't think for a SECOND that I'm not getting
in the picture with the King Mouse himself.
All dressed up for breakfast with Cinderella
at the castle.
About as happy as Delaney could get. She
was very proud of her lipstick print on her cheek.
Even Emily tries to sneak into a picture
when she can.
Leo from the Little Einsteins.
June from the Little Einsteins. Yes, I
know it's a little sick that I know all the names. Sue me.
Goliath from JoJo's Circus.
Minnie (again) and Goofy (again).
Delaney asked "where's the Beast?"
and Belle had an immediate answer. Quick thinker, that Belle.
Fort Myers
Finally, a little time to relax...
As much as she liked the Disney meal plan,
she LOVES chocolate donuts.
Here she comes with her two buckets of
water...
I built a neat little sand castle so Mackenzie
could destroy it. Apparently.
Shell collecting is the BEST baby sitter
in the world.
Yep...We're parents of the year.
They waited for quite a while for that
dead butterfly to move. It didn't.
You get two guesses why I took this picture
and the first one doesn't count.
Delaney didn't understand that the BIGGER
shells are the best ones.
Off to find more shells before dinner.
Mackenzie is WAY into getting shells.
Delaney's just into almost getting
her dress wet.
Taking a break from chasing lizards to
pose with a giant frog.
Ready for dinner at the Key Lime Bistro.
She can keep herself busy for hours with
coloring books.
Unfortunately, when Mackenzie has the coloring
book, Delaney has to improvise.
Our last morning in Florida...just missing a tropical storm.
Worn out on the flight home...
...but awake just in time to see the St.
Louis airport out the window.
