So, last night, Emily wants to watch the Miss Universe Pageant. Nevermind that we have the season finales of 24 and Lost on our TiVo just waiting to be watched. Instead, I relented and decided to catch up on my e-mail and complain every 15 minutes that the Miss Universe pageant was on my television.

I will say, however, that it did provide a level of entertainment to my evening.

Billy Bush was the host of the event, which seemed appropriate given that it's an international event taking place in Thailand. And THAT is how little credibility this pageant now has. Oh, and did I mention that Donald Trump was the Executive Producer? Yeah...it's that bad.

Anyway...back to Billy Bush. The best part of the evening was near the end when the final 5 was being announced. After Miss Mexico was announced as the first of the group, Bush announces the second with the following quote.

"Oh, a South American dog fight...Miss Dominican Republic!

Yep...someone needs to buy Mr. Bush a map. I could MAYBE understand botching the DR...it kind of floats between North and South America, but how do you mess up Mexico?

Oh, and Miss Canada won the thing because she sounded halfway intelligent when answering her "final question." The other 4 had difficult time coming up with good answers to hard-hitting questions like, "What book you've read recently would you recommend and why?"
